Oh Hay!

Welcome to our little family farm. For the past 15 years, we farmed the hard way – No chemicals, no pesticides , just rain and sweat.

We supply clean hay to farmers so they can feed their livestock , but here’s the truth, our tractor is very old and we are one breakdown away from letting our farmers down.

Like the rest of the UK, we are struggling to survive financially but here at our farm, we do not give up without a fight !

So what did we do? Simples , we went for a walk !

We took a walk around our farm to see what more we could offer ...

We have a few fruit trees and a few fields of hay and well … that was basically it !

We sat down with a clipboard and pen hoping to come up with ways to save our farm but instead we ended up spending most of the time watching wild rabbits hopping around and eating from our all you can eat buffet.

All of a sudden it clicked !

What if we sold food to rabbits? I mean like we are super proud to be guardians of this soil and everything we grow is 100% natural.

So we started to research what rabbits like to eat and what they cannot eat etc

We then started producing a range of tasty treats for rabbits.

Our research into rabbits were taking over our phone and laptops. All of a sudden , we started seeing lots of posts about rabbits being abandoned which took us be surprise. We started to look into this and came across lots of small rabbit rescues.

Every small rescue we came across were rescuing bunnies from owners who no longer wanted them or were simply found abandoned on the side of the road. These small rescues care for the rabbits and try to find them new forever homes. Unfortunately , not all rabbits find their forever homes so they live at the rescue. These rescues do not do this for money , in fact,  most of them fund the whole rescue themselves but even super heroes need help sometimes right?

So we spoke to a few of these small rabbit rescues.

A small rabbit rescue caring for 20 rabbits will cost the rescuer approximately £150 - £200 per month on food alone.

We urgently needed to do something to help these small rescues. Without these super heroes , abandoned rabbits will have no where to turn as large animal rescue centres tend to favour cats and dogs.

So here’s our plan :

1.      Start a campaign to raise awareness – There are lots of breeders out there breeding rabbits to sell as there doesn’t seem to be any legislation for this yet. There is now an over population of rabbits so we need to slow this down.
Adopt instead of shop -  There are lots of bunnies in rescue looking for their forever home. So if people stop buying from the breeders, they will eventually stop breeding.

We know we cant fix this over night but by raising awareness, we will slowly get there one bunny at a time.

2.      Support small rabbit rescues in the UK – We have teamed up with a few small non-profit rabbit rescues in UK who would really appreciate rabbit food donations to keep them going.  So every time a customer buy’s from us , we will also donate a pack of rabbit food to one of these small rescues.

You can also donate food bundles to these small rescues too along with a note of encouragement to thank them for everything they do for these bun buns and when you choose this option, we will also send a second bundle free of charge to the rescue centre of your choice.

3.      Our goal – Every purchase you guys make will help us seed our fields with timothy hay. Our goal is to be able to supply timothy hay along with tasty treats to rabbit rescues so the bunnies always have plenty to eat because rabbits in rescue deserves to be treated too right?

Follow our journey and help us create a better future for bunnies.
